Nutrigold Coconut Oil Review

by Honey Rowland 2 Comments

Anyone who knows me knows I love Coconut Oil.  It’s a wonder really at how useful and healing it is.  So, I was excited to receive a nice sized jar of Nutrigold Coconut Oil in exchange for an honest review.

The short and sweet of it is well..it’s coconut oil.  Smells like coconut oil.  Tastes like coconut oil.  Moisturizes, conditions and even cooks like coconut oil!  All in all…it’s yummy!  An important thing about Nutrigold is the USDA Organic seal.  But..the clincher for me is they proudly sport that they’re NON-GMO verified!

Non-GMO Verified is VERY important to me.  I’m not into making a massive leap in evolution from eating something over night if you catch my drift.  So I stay away from the products that have Genetically Modified Organisms.

There are some nasty hydrogenated coconut oils out there so you want a coconut oil that goes through a cold process to extract the oil.  You also want to make sure there are no sulfites or other things added to squeeze out another drop.  After all…you don’t want to eat the equivalent of falling into a vat of toxic waste.  Now, if you’re into skimpy superhero outfits….hydrogenate away!

Coconut oil has a ton of health benefits.  It naturally has lauric acid which helps your immune system work.  There’s also some E and B vitamins as well as Phosphorous, Iron, Magnesium, and Zinc.  And, if you’re worried about cholesterol you’re good to go because the fat in coconut oil is good for you.  Say it with me!  “Fat is GOOD!”

Say it with me folks! Fat is GOOD!

It’s also great because no matter what diet or eating belief you follow you’re safe.  Coconut oil is great for Vegans, Vegetarians, GAPS, Paleo, Raw, and Traditional Foodies.  It’s great for cooking and baking with and oh my is a big spoonful delicious in coffee.

Another seldom known benefit to coconut oil is that it’s a great natural energy booster.  You don’t need some fancy, over-priced, sugary drink like soda.  It also supports healthy weight loss by kicking your body over into a fat burning machine.  Now, all my research has told me that but I’m still waiting to see the results of that one!  In the meantime I’m rocking healthy hair, skin, and nails.

What’s your favorite way to use coconut oil?

About Honey Rowland

Organic since it was a dirty hippie word is an easy way to understand me. With 3 kiddos (7, 14, and 16) and one bearded hubby I raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, rabbits and Great Pyrenees livestock guardians on our organically ran mini farm in Ohio. A bull calf and heritage breed pigs have recently been added, along with an impending move into our less than 600 sq ft tiny home that's more and more off grid with each solar panel we buy.

Homeschooling, green living, self-sufficiency and natural parenting (but with yelling) is the norm here. Any skipping through the tulips tends to end with a face plant in chicken or duck poo but being a "glass half full" kind of gal I can smile 'cause the poo is organic and non-gmo! What a great review! I’ve heard of so many benefits of coconut oil, and I keep forgetting to pick some up at the store! I can use all the energy I can get! (Like every other mom out there!) 🙂

[…] I also love that these vitamins are Non-GMO Verified.  That’s SOO important to us and one of the reasons we raise as much food for ourselves and support our local farmers as we can.  I like how Nutrigold took the time and steps to make sure their product was GMO-free.  That’s simply the sign of a company that cares about you and your family.  That’s the sign of a company that puts the earth ahead of profits and greed.  That’s a company I’m proud to recommend.
