Close Nutritional Gaps with MegaFood Vitamins #ad #megapledge @megafood

by Honey Rowland Leave a Comment

I’m researching the best vitamin mineral supplements as lately health has taken a back seat to survival.  I’m tired and overwhelmed being a sole parent now that Ben passed away.  I realized the kids have only 1 living parent now, so I’ve GOT to put my health as a priority now.  After all, what’s the flight attendant speech?  “Put on your mask before helping those you love.”

I’ve used MegaFood vitamins but to be honest, I’m a lazy pill taker.  Oh, I’ll power through it for a good week or two taking them and then guess what?  I suddenly realize it’s been a month since I took my supplements. Then, I heard they had Nutrient Booster Powders at Shiftcon, and I was all OOO and ordered some from Amazon.  I can do the whole daily vitamin…easyish.  But, our world is full of pollution, our food lacks nutrition, and we’re so stressed our bodies burn through the good stuff quick, so we need additional supplements and I’m not good with a handful of capsules yet.  I had the Megafoods Daily C-Protect Nutrient Booster Powder a full month before MegaFoods sent me a set of their Daily Energy, Daily Purify, and Daily Turmeric Nutrient Boosters to review and share on my blog.

All in all, I like them.  They’re thicker and don’t “dissolve” in juice.  They have a slight peppery flavor but what I’ve noticed is adding them to my bone broth or soup makes supplementing more natural.  It makes my bone broth even more nutritious at healing my leaky gut.  I have tried the smoothy/ juice route, and while easily drank, I preferred my soup or bone broth.

Adding these powders and working within what I know I will do is one of the ways I’m pledging to close the multitude of gaps in my health and nutrition.  After all, I need to be around to give twice the snuggles to our kiddos and future grandbabies.

I’m doing more than just vitamin and mineral supplements too.

  • We joined the Y.
  • I paid my kids to make healthy freezer meals which are perfect for when I’m overwhelmed.
  • We’re walking the dogs every evening, so all of us are exercising many times through the day.
  • I’ve added bone broth twice a day to our diets.
  • I eat breakfast almost everyday.
  • I’m abusing water privileges and enjoying very long, relaxing hot showers.  (stress relief 😉 )

But the number one thing I’m doing is being patient with myself.  I try to remember it’s ok not to have it all together after losing my soul mate.  Life will not end if the kids eat cupcakes for breakfast.  After all, it’s just pancake in a different form.  I mean really.

Now, on February 7th, MegaFood will have a live Facebook party from 11-5pm in support of the MegaPledge.  The MegaPledge is a pledge or promise to improve the health of your family, your body and even people you don’t know.  It’s about agreeing to see the value in YOURSELF and acting on it which creates a better world for all of us.

What’s cool is for every pledge, MegaFood will donate a bottle of MegaFood Multivitamins to someone in need.  That means the parent struggling to take care of the family doesn’t have to choose between giving the kids food or feeling halfway decent enough to do more than snuggle with a kiddo and watch tv.  With some vitamins to help with stress and nutritional deficiencies, there will be some energy to pack a healthy lunch for work the next day or maybe even take a walk while the kids ride their bikes.

MegaFood is also donating 2 servings of fruits and veggies to someone who could use a little support, through Wholesome Wave. So, by taking the pledge to close your nutritional gap, you can improve your life AND the life of someone in need.

Let me know if you’ll be at the party tomorrow by tagging me Honey of Honey’s Life on Facebook or leave a comment so I can look for you.  Oh!  Don’t forget to pledge and RSVP!

And, if you think your kids’ health is more important than yours…you’re right.  Answer one question for me.  If something happens who else will care about your child’s health the way you do?  No one.  So start taking care of yourself so that you can take care of them for a long time.

About Honey Rowland

Organic since it was a dirty hippie word is an easy way to understand me. With 3 kiddos (7, 14, and 16) and one bearded hubby I raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, rabbits and Great Pyrenees livestock guardians on our organically ran mini farm in Ohio. A bull calf and heritage breed pigs have recently been added, along with an impending move into our less than 600 sq ft tiny home that's more and more off grid with each solar panel we buy.

Homeschooling, green living, self-sufficiency and natural parenting (but with yelling) is the norm here. Any skipping through the tulips tends to end with a face plant in chicken or duck poo but being a "glass half full" kind of gal I can smile 'cause the poo is organic and non-gmo!
