Around Halloween I stumbled upon a site that enables me to be lazy called “Daily Make & Takes.” They’d find these really cute ideas to decorate your home, your kid (Halloween), recipes galore, crafts to sew, knit, glue, basically a really great daily dose of craftyness that throws in a meal or perhaps a desert in honor of the upcoming holiday or current season. (Well, hello Mr. Run On Sentence!) Tonight..they sent this…
DIY: Scratch N Sniff Valentine Treat Bags !
HELLO! Scratch n sniff stickers! DIY!!!!!!!!!! (Yes, I collected stickers as a child & the other day I finally threw out my big ol’ binder that housed my collection. And the scary thing….most of them STILL had scent! I haven’t seen many scratch n sniffs these past few years & well…I don’t like to give the stickers since they’re really expensive & I worry about what the kids could be sniffing.
But, Tyler has sensory issues & when I saw this….wow…a whole world opened up! Instead of ‘stickers’ why not water color paints? Or simply adding koolaid to tempra paints? Adding that extra sensory experience would be very enriching. I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this before!!! So…next week when we go shopping I’m picking up some koolaid. We’re going to do some more watercolors (love water color paintings) & perhaps mix up some more playdough.
Oh, and Monday I’ll have some pictures of our learning room if you’re interested. We should have the basement emptied out this weekend & I want to take some definite last pics of this houses learning room & the horrible, horrible wooden walls. I HATE panelling! At least the guys who put it up used real wood & not that laminate crap. I’m a country girl that hates country decor. And, we’re back from our tangent.
Looks about 5 inches here & still coming down. Hopefully we’ll have good packing snow to make snowmen tomorrow but not enough to be dangerous to drive since Ben has to work firsts tomorrow. Speak of the monkey! Nighty night! Stay warm.
