Say No to Blogiarism (…blog plagiarism)

by Honey Rowland 2 Comments

Main Entry: blo·gia·rize

Pronunciation: ˈblo-jə-ˌrīz also -jē-ə-
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): blo·gia·rized; blo·gia·riz·ing
Etymology: blogiary
Date: 2010
transitive verb
: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another’s blog) as one’s own : use (another’s production) without crediting the source
intransitive verb

Ok…I’ve seen and heard too many times to count how someone finds their stuff either for sale somewhere or else it’s being claimed as the work of another.  Plagiarism BUGS me.  Well, actually it simply ticks me off and brings to mind words that would cause a sailor on leave to blush.
So, after seeing it on a bloggy friends blog who is simply too nice to have it ever happen to her I thought I’d do something about it.  I figure the direct approach would embarrass my bloggy friend so I’ve come up with a pledge.
I Say No To BLOGIARISM is my way of saying to everyone who copies & pastes, borrows, adds a frame, etc that it’s UNACCEPTABLE.  I am not a gal who beats around the bush.  I am blunt & my husband says I am abrasivly blunt….and that’s when I’m being nice.
If anyone else is tired of intellectual & image theft please, take the pledge & help create a world where theft is held accountable.  There is a difference in forgetting to cite something but when it is pointed out to you & still you refuse to cite it?….shame on you.

About Honey Rowland

Organic since it was a dirty hippie word is an easy way to understand me. With 3 kiddos (7, 14, and 16) and one bearded hubby I raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, rabbits and Great Pyrenees livestock guardians on our organically ran mini farm in Ohio. A bull calf and heritage breed pigs have recently been added, along with an impending move into our less than 600 sq ft tiny home that's more and more off grid with each solar panel we buy.

Homeschooling, green living, self-sufficiency and natural parenting (but with yelling) is the norm here. Any skipping through the tulips tends to end with a face plant in chicken or duck poo but being a "glass half full" kind of gal I can smile 'cause the poo is organic and non-gmo! I was wondering what happened. I can’t believe people steal stuff soooo often, and never credit where it came from, or just sell it as their own. I wondered last night if someone stole your India cards, since you added your blogname to all of the American symbols cards.
